inertia

Hi friends,
LIFE....found lotsa blogs with this link........so special for the lucky ones and horrendous for the unlucky lot......yesterday was Women's Day....I know this article is late, but I happened to see a programme on CNN on this.....do Indian women actually have a reason to celebrate women's day????
My view is a big NO. Lots of arguments can be put forward....maybe there'll be a few who'll refute this as well....but this is what I feel.......for the larger unfortunate lot, who dont even know such a day exists....for those whose existence is itself a struggle for a lifetime, does all this really matter....no..not even for us...even though we say that the woman of today has made great strides. whats the point having a 30% reservation when the girls n women who actually need it are not even aware of it.....well, for us, who have had the luxury of education n a good life, there is no need for a special cause....but, what about the women who actually make those numbers in the population????
How many measures are being taken to ensure that they get opportunities in life......does the life of a woman end with just household??? that is a big thing no doubt, but how many of us actually think of the umpteen number of times when we have seen our mothers just as someone who takes care of you tirelessly........somewhere down the years, her identity just dissolves. I do not mean to say that a lot of us do that, but just think about it......
there was this article which said that female infanticide should not be banned!! for the simple reason that instead of making a girl go through all the humiliations her family would inflict upon her for being an unwanted child...this is just one view point I present to make my point....
added to all this, Women's day is just another timepass day...where a few companies would have stupid offers for ladies....competitions......n a fan fare for nothing.....miss world....another crappy thing on this world!!! even if half the money spent on all this is spent on the education of the poor, our country could be a much better place......at least let us all try to make a small contribution in some way or the other....no matter how small......at least u tried to make a difference instead of being a passive onlooker.....
I hope the mood of the post was not glum..n the title inertia because 'a body in motion continues to be in motion n a body in rest continues to be in rest.....until acted upon by an external force'
let is try to be the force that would bring them out from the state of inertia......
